Len Davies began brewing by making homebrew in the farmhouse kitchen when he came to live in the beautiful Gwaun Valley in Pembrokeshire, West Wales, many years ago. Perfecting his recipes became his passion and the beers we have on offer are the result of many hours of diligent experimentation to get the unique and delicious flavours that everybody loves.
Sarah Davies began painting in watercolour in 1986 when she joined a local art class to make up the numbers. She was then living at Glanaman, near Ammanford. She joined the local art society (The Amman Valley Art Group) and regularly exhibited with them. In 1995 she did an HND course in wildlife illustration and design at Gelli Aur College, near Llandeilo and following that she did a PGCE course in Swansea and began teaching watercolour at local art groups and she taught for Aberystwyth University for many years. She held exhibitions at Pontardawe, Gorseinon, Swansea and Ammanford over the years.
She and her husband, Len, then moved to the Gwaun Valley in 1998 and as well as helping him run the farm she continued teaching watercolour and held several exhibitions at her studio in Kilkiffeth Farmhouse.
In 2009 she helped her husband to found the Gwaun Valley Brewery and it was her job to design the beer labels which are all watercolours, mostly of local scenes.
She has continued to paint whenever she gets time and nowadays the brewery becomes her studio and in here you will find a collection of mostly recent paintings which she hopes you will enjoy looking at!
